The associate in arts in political science for transfer program provides quality general education opportunities, which enhance student learning by developing critical thinking skills and increasing student understanding of the institutions and policies of American Government, the importance of ethics in political systems, as well as the role of citizenship in the democratic process. The associate in arts in political science for transfer will prepare students for further studies toward a California State University (CSU) baccalaureate degree in political science.

Associate Degree for Transfer Requirements Completion of 60 semester units that are eligible for transfer to the California State University, including the following: 1. The completion of the California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC).  2. A minimum of 18 semester units in a major or area of emphasis, as determined by the community college district. 3. Obtainment of a minimum overall grade point average of 2.0 4. Minimum grade of C, or P grade, for each course in the major. [The following Allan Hancock College graduation requirements will not be required:Health and Wellness, Multicultural Gender Studies and Allan Hancock College General Education.]
