History is the study of continuity and change in human societies over time. The Associate in Arts for Transfer in History fosters an understanding of ourselves and our world through the study of the past-both remote and recent. It is by nature an extremely broad discipline that includes an analysis of individuals and groups, events and phenomena, long-term and short-term trends, institutions, societies, and cultures. The Associate in Arts for Transfer in History will prepare students to move into the California State University (CSU) system and complete the general education requirements for those students planning to enroll in a four-year institution.
